We are looking for someone with a strong revenue operations, commercial operations or growth operations background who understands how to connect customer acquisition, conversion, retention, pricing, marketing, marketplace supply and operational execution to deliver measurable commercial outcomes.
The COO will have overall responsibility for ensuring that Sweepstar supply, customer experience, booking fulfilment, marketing, growth and operational performance work together effectively to drive sustainable GMV and revenue growth, profitability and long-term value creation. A key focus of the role will be building processes and operating rhythms required to optimise the full revenue funnel, from acquisition and conversion through to repeat usage, retention, reactivation and lifetime value.
This is a hands-on executive leadership role requiring someone who can operate comfortably at both strategic and operational levels in terms of setting direction and building scalable systems while remaining close enough to the day-to-day business to identify problems, unblock teams and ensure execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the strategy and execution of Sweepsouth’s revenue and GMV growth strategy, working closely with the CEO and ExecTeam.
- Build and lead a strong revenue operations approach, aligning Marketing, Operations, Product and Finance around shared commercial targets and priorities.
- Own end-to-end marketplace performance across both sides of the Sweepsouth marketplace, including Sweepstar supply, customer demand, booking fulfilment, customer experience and retention.
- Lead and develop the Operations organisation and its leaders, establishing clear accountability, performance expectations and operating rhythms.
- Use customer, Sweepstar and commercial data to improve acquisition, conversion, retention, reactivation, repeat usage and lifetime value.
- Overseeing and ensuring marketing activity is closely aligned with operational capacity and business growth priorities.
- Oversee key commercial growth levers, including pricing, product positioning, go-to-market execution and selected strategic partnerships.
- Partner closely with Product and Engineering to ensure technology and product development support operational, customer and Sweepstar needs.
- Drive process improvement, automation and standardisation across the business, reducing manual work and building scalable operating processes and playbooks.
- Own operating and marketing budgets and work closely with Finance on forecasting, budgeting, unit economics, margins and performance tracking.
- Lead operational planning and execution for growth into new markets, geographies and service verticals, ensuring the business is operationally and economically ready to scale.
- Establish clear operational and commercial KPIs and dashboards across customer, Sweepstar, marketing, growth and financial performance.
- Provide the CEO and Executive Team with regular, action-oriented reporting on performance, risks, opportunities and progress against strategic priorities.
- Identify and mitigate operational, service and marketplace risks, ensuring appropriate controls and escalation processes are in place.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Industrial Engineering or a related field is advantageous.
- 10+ years’ senior leadership experience, with a strong background in revenue operations, commercial operations, or growth operations.
- Proven track record in driving revenue growth and commercial performance, ideally within a technology marketplace or high growth environment.
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end revenue funnel, including acquisition, conversion, retention, reactivation and lifetime value.
- Demonstrated ability to translate commercial strategy into hands-on operational execution, with experience across customer operations, supply/workforce operations and service fulfillment.
- Strong analytical and commercial capability, with experience using data, KPIs and unit economics to identify opportunities, prioritise initiatives and improve performance.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and align functions such as Operations, Marketing, Product and Finance around shared commercial goals.
- A highly hands-on, execution-focused leadership style, comfortable moving between strategy and the day to day realities of running and scaling a business.
